About

A central focus of the Pan Arctic Forum is an Interactive Public Docket (IPD) which provides a platform  for Arctic shareholders to exchange ideas for a science based development of the region’s resources on an interactive basis. Our ultimate objective is to respect the sovereignty of each individual Arctic state but to ensure that their regulatory actions are science based and transparent.

The organization is open to individuals, corporations, non-government organizations, quasi-governmental bodies and scholars who have a demonstrated ability to contribute to a meaningful and balanced development of the Arctic.

We note that participants in the Arctic debate range from those whose views are ideology based to those whose views are science based, with the EU’s move to become a player as being in the former camp because of its adoption of the precautionary principle.

Professional staff support is provided by the Center for Regulatory Effectiveness (CRE), a nationally recognized regulatory watchdog located in Washington, DC. The Center for Regulatory Effectiveness was founded and is presently managed by former regulatory officials of the White House Office of Management and Budget. CRE personnel through years of government service have made notable contributions to the formation and operation of OIRA.

The Pan Arctic Forum is highly interactive; our technology allows stakeholders to comment on any article or post their own article in any of the forums on the right hand side of the homepage; no registration is required. Posts may be anonymous and lengthy documents can accompany any post.
